AAPCA Announces Next Executive Director

The Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA) is pleased to announce that Morgan Dickie has been selected as the organization’s next Executive Director.

Ms. Dickie joined AAPCA in August 2021 as Policy & Membership Specialist, was promoted to Senior Policy & Membership Specialist in August 2023, and had been serving as Interim Executive Director since the beginning of May 2024. As Senior Policy & Membership Specialist, she focused on Clean Air Act policy, emerging air quality issues, and membership support. She has been the lead author of the Association’s annual report, State Air Trends & Successes: The StATS Report, for the past three years.

Prior to joining AAPCA, Ms. Dickie was an Environmental Health Specialist for the Nashville Metro Public Health Department, where she managed quality assurance for the ambient air monitoring program. Ms. Dickie has more than ten years of combined experience working for state/local governments and nonprofit organizations on environmental issues.

“Morgan is an asset to AAPCA, and a pleasure to work with,” said Laura Crowder, Director for the West Virginia Division of Air Quality and AAPCA’s President. “We look forward to working with Morgan in her new role, building on the successes of state and local air agencies to reduce air pollution and protect public health, and continuing the consensus-driven, technical focus of the Association.”

Ms. Dickie received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science from American University in Washington, D.C.

Morgan lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee, with her fiancé and two dogs.

AAPCA Background

The Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies, or AAPCA, is a national, non-profit, consensus-driven organization focused on assisting state and local air quality agencies and personnel with implementation and technical issues associated with the federal Clean Air Act. Created in 2012, AAPCA represents 51 state and local air pollution control agencies, and senior officials from 21 state environmental agencies currently sit on the AAPCA Board of Directors.
