Lexington, KY

The Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA) recently announced 2025 Best Practices in Air Pollution Control, recognizing exemplary air agency programs in Georgia; San Joaquin Valley, California; Santa Barbara, California; and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Air Management Association. Designated annually, AAPCA’s Best Practices in Air Pollution Control highlight innovative programs, groundbreaking technology, and meritorious operations in the field of air pollution control. Of particular interest are activities that are directly transferrable to the operation of an air pollution control agency.

Four programs were featured at the AAPCA 2025 Fall Business Meeting, in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Thursday, September 25:

“The best practice designations this year featured unique, effective programs created by state and local air agencies to solve complex air quality management challenges,” said incoming AAPCA 2026 Vice President, Cory Chism with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. “We appreciate the work that went into every nomination and look forward to the exchange of ideas that AAPCA’s Best Practices Program fosters every year.”

The Association will further spotlight 2025 Best Practices in Air Pollution Control in its annual State Air Trends & Successes: The StATS Report and on a national webinar later this year.

More on AAPCA’s Best Practices in Air Pollution Control can be found in the 2025 call for nominations. All nominations undergo a rigorous review by the Association’s Best Practices Committee and Board of Directors. Presentations from all past recipients can be found on AAPCA’s website.
